Time for a nice drive around Madison and a good old-fashioned quick-charge party afterward!
September's always a nice time for a pleasure drive, and what's more pleasurable than driving your all-electric Leaf around beautiful the beautiful Madison area lakes? (Okay, maybe driving a Tesla instead, but nobody will prevent you from doing that if you can swing it!) MG&E has just launched their new DC Fast Charge station on the far east side (at Kelly's Market Mobil, 3859 E. Washington Ave.). We'll start and end there so people can charge their L3-capable Leafs before and/or after the drive as necessary (or desired). There's also an L2 ChargePoint at the next-door HyVee for any additional charging needs (i.e. if you don't have the QC port and still need to charge to get home, etc.). Come and join us on Saturday, September 7th, starting at 4pm.
For those of you who have not yet signed up for the quick charger access card (it is different than the ChargePoint card you may already have!), you can sign up at http://www.mge.com/mobile/ev/index.htm or call MG&E at (608) 252-7117 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Remember your Leaf must have the Quick Charge option to take advantage of this!
Here's a tentative route map I've created: http://goo.gl/maps/bzs7A
If it's more convenient for you to just join us partway through the route instead of from the start, you are more than welcome to do so -- stake out a neighboring street or parking lot along the route and keep your eyes open for us! We'll be starting with a clockwise loop around Monona and then a counterclockwise loop around Mendota, passing through the capitol square twice.
See you then!
